More pictures

I’m finally getting around to putting together more slideshows from our cruise. I’m going to just keep posting them here to have them all together so if you don’t want to be bothered anymore I won’t be offended if you unsubscribe.

Anyways, I want to go back here so badly. One of the most beautiful spots on Earth hands down. This is at the top of our must-see-again list, we were so lucky to get a quick visit, but now we know what we are missing. Someday hopefully we’ll go back.

Cutest puppy ever!

I’ve been meaning to blog more of our world trip travel pictures but I’ve been a little distracted lately by a cute little furry monster with floppy ears.

So I thought, who doesn’t love a good puppy video? Searching on youtube for puppies is one of my all-time favourite time-wasters! So now I made my own!

This was taken from April – June. And yes we still had snow then.

So without further adieu, meet our little girl – Kesler 🙂

The camera lens strikes again!

If you recall back in December while we were in Australia we had an accident with our telephoto camera lens. It was dropped and broken. So we immediately spent $700 in Sydney to replace it. It was a borrowed camera so it had to be done, plus we loved the camera, especially that lens! Anyways, turns out, this new lens was broken too. Talk about bad luck! We then spent our entire day in Melbourne, our next port, dealing with the issue. We bought a second new lens for another $700 and made an agreement with the store we bought the first one from in Sydney that we could return it for a refund, so off went the first replacement lens via Australia Post.

Flash forward to February. We are home in Canada and have still heard nothing and received no refund. So we start making calls which we couldn’t do on the trip since we were either busy or in a different time zone. Turns out, nobody has any record WHATSOEVER of the lens. The camera store never received it, Australia Post doesn’t have any record of it. Poof! It has magically disappeared and there’s not a dam thing we can do about it. And to top it off, all of our insurance options at home won’t cover us! Bah! I don’t know why I even pay for insurance sometimes!

So the good news is: we are now the proud owners of the original dropped broken lens, (which we don’t have a camera for, and is going to cost another couple hundred bucks still to fix…It is turning out to be the most expensive camera ever) But, it takes amazing pictures!

We’re gonna need a bigger fridge

Last week we went from +30 degrees to -30 degrees. That sucked! We’ve been trying to get back to reality….it’s not working too well for us yet.
Also, I started going through our photos, we took over 7000! And a couple hundred movies. There’s a lot I didn’t post from the end of our trip because we were a lot busier and we didn’t have internet for a lot of it. I could post a photo a day for 19 years! So get ready for that. 🙂
Anyways, we have a tradition to buy a fridge magnet wherever we go as our “souvenir”. I don’t have a before photo but we only had about 15 magnets. We’re gonna need a bigger fridge…..

We are booked!

I’m no travel agent but I’ve successfully booked a few trips here and there so I thought I could handle this one too. But, after what felt like months of research and nearly losing my mind trying to coordinate our dream trip to multiple destinations (eg. flights/tours/hotels) on a budget we stumbled upon something different and chose to instead take a WORLD CRUISE! It’s funny because neither of us had even considered a cruise before. We had wanted to do a G-Adventure tour or buy a sailboat and explore around somewhere tropical that way. But when we sat down and honestly looked at what we could do, we only felt like we could take a few months at the most…we both feel like we need to get jobs and be responsible and stuff (which I’m sure our parents are grateful for). So anyways, it was an awesome surprise for us when we found a last minute cruise deal. We are going to be able to see more than we ever imagined and we don’t have to worry about booking hotels and flights along the way. So even though it isn’t what we had originally planned, it’s going to hopefully be the best of both worlds and give us everything we want, without the stress of planning everything ourself (because that just wasn’t working out). And we are still going to spend a lot of time on the water which is exciting.

So we fly out of Calgary Nov 6th to South America, then cross the South Pacific, then up to the Mediterranean in Jan 2014. This map roughly outlines our trip

We leave in one month! OMG!

Learn to sail~

We got some new books in the mail this week….we are going to take sailing lessons! We both love to be on the water, and sailing has been a dream of mine for several years now. Now’s the time to do it if we’re going to. So incredibly excited for this!!
